Corbyn Investment Management, the investment adviser
for the Greenspring Fund since its inception in 1983,
began operations in 1973 by offering managed accounts
to individuals. Since that time, Corbyn has expanded its offerings and currently manages accounts for individuals,
institutions, businesses, and non-profit organizations.
Since our inception, we have focused on preserving capital
during unfavorable market environments, and steadily
growing capital during better times. We strive for consistent,
strong, risk-averse performance over an entire market
cycle, while exposing our clients to reduced volatility.
Corbyn employs a research-intensive approach that focuses
on the "inefficient sector" of the market, that is,
securities that are either currently out-of-favor or
not widely followed by the investment community. By
carefully investigating these companies, we seek to
identify attractive investments selling at discounts
to the underlying values of the businesses. As these
businesses thrive and become more widely recognized,
increased sponsorship from the investment community
usually produces a positive effect on the prices of
these securities.
Unlike investing in mutual funds, these accounts can
be tailored to the specific needs of each investor,
and can also offer customized options for income and
tax considerations. Our account offerings are structured
to fit your individual financial objectives.
